On Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 9:00 AM to noon, six MWRD water reclamation plants will offer tours held in conjunction with National Infrastructure Week. The public will have the opportunity to visit one of the plants without advanced reservations or background checks to learn how we are recovering resources and transforming water.
Calumet WRP - 400 E. 130th St., Chicago
Egan WRP - 550 S. Meacham Rd., Schaumburg
Hanover Park WRP - 1220 Sycamore Ave., Hanover Park
Kirie WRP - 701 Oakton St., Des Plaines

The Stickney WRP will use the bus to offer shortened tours around plant grounds. Participants at all locations will be given buckets of compost and 18” oak tree saplings as part of the “Restore the Canopy” program. All ages are welcome. And remember to add your photos to Twitter with the handle #TimeToBuild, which will be used nationwide for National Infrastructure Week!
